What a weekend! The HAITO Karate team once again had the honour of showcasing the power and spirit of Kyokushin Karate at the much-loved Bretton Festival. For the third year in a row, we brought our energy to the stage, and despite the scorching sun ☀️, our students delivered a performance that was nothing short of electrifying!

It was a day filled with community spirit, and we were thrilled to share our passion for traditional martial arts with the enthusiastic crowd that gathered. Our students, from the youngest to the most senior, demonstrated the core principles of Kyokushin with precision and pride.
A Showcase of Kyokushin Excellence 🏆

Our performance was a testament to the hard work and dedication our students put in week after week. We structured our demonstration to give the audience a true taste of what Kyokushin Karate is all about.
Kihon: The Foundation of Power
We kicked things off with a display of Kihon, the fundamental techniques of karate. The crowd witnessed a powerful demonstration of precision punches 👊 and dynamic kicks, all executed with the focus and discipline that is central to our training.
Kata: The Art of Form
Next, our students performed a series of six different Kata. From our junior members to our advanced practitioners, each level showcased the beautiful and intricate forms that are a hallmark of Kyokushin. The synchronicity and individual focus were truly a sight to behold.
Tameshiwari: The Ultimate Test of Spirit
The grand finale, and a definite crowd-pleaser, was the Tameshiwari (board breaking) 💥. Every single one of our students who participated successfully broke their boards using a variety of impressive techniques. The sound of snapping boards echoed as they executed straight punches, powerful elbow strikes, sharp knee strikes, and dynamic axe and roundhouse kicks. The applause and cheers from the audience were a fantastic reward for their incredible display of strength and spirit!
Sweet Rewards for Hard Work 🍦

After a hot and demanding performance, our dedicated students were treated to some well-deserved refreshments. A big thank you to Sensei Gabi for providing sweet treats for everyone 🍬, and a special thank you to our supporter Ilze Pulina from Relax and Restore for the cooling and delicious ice cream!
We are incredibly proud of every student who took part in the Bretton Festival. Your courage, discipline, and powerful performance were an inspiration to all. A huge thank you to the organisers of the Bretton Festival for having us back for a third year. We are honoured to be a part of this wonderful community event and are already looking forward to making next year’s performance even stronger!
