Five Trophies at the BKK English Open 2026: HAITO Makes Its Mark

Yesterday, 11 of our HAITO heroes stepped onto the mats at the highest level of national Kyokushin Karate in Reading. In a massive field of 230 competitors from over 40 clubs, our small but mighty team truly made their mark.

The Results: Our Podium Finishes

We are incredibly proud to announce the following trophy winners from the event:

  • Rebeka Pulina: 2nd Place (U14 / +50kg)
  • Adam Pilarski: 3rd Place (U14 / +55kg)
  • Dominic Dziedzic: 3rd Place (U14 / -50kg)
  • Oluwatimilehin Adelabu: 3rd Place (U12 / -35kg)
  • Jacob Barker: 3rd Place (U10 / -30kg)

The HAITO Growth: 3.5 Years of Progress

Out of more than 40 clubs, we secured 15th place overall. We are now sharing the rankings with well established clubs that have been around for over 30 years.

This is a massive achievement when you consider that HAITO has only been on the map for three and a half years. We started this journey with every single student as a total beginner in a white belt. Seeing our students compete at this level against veteran dojos shows how much work has been put in behind the scenes.

A Note From Sensei

Thank you all so much for your effort. While the day was not perfect, it was still an amazing experience. I am proud of every single one of you for being brave enough to step on the mat and test your skills under pressure.

To the parents: thank you for the incredible support, help, and assistance. Your presence made a big difference during such a busy and high energy event.

While there were some very “interesting” judging and referee decisions on the day, we are not discouraged. These moments only make us stronger. We will be back in the dojo to fix the mistakes and we will be back on the mats to prove them wrong in the future.
