On February 16th, Sensei Gabi, the owner and instructor of HAITO Karate and Self-Defence Club, had the opportunity to be a guest on Hereward Radio, a local radio station in Peterborough. She spoke with Snow Snieguolė Maliavskaja, the host of the show “Kalbėti negalima tylėti“, which means “Can’t keep silent must speak” in Lithuanian.
What did Sensei Gabi talk about on the show?
Sensei Gabi shared her personal story of how she started her Karate journey in 2004 when she was just 12 years old. What struggles she endured and how she moved to the UK in 2014. After 8 years living in the UK, finally opened her own Martial Arts Club in Peterborough.
Sensei Gabi is truly passionate about Karate and other martial arts and she also spoke about the benefits of Karate and self-defence for children, teens, and adults. She highlighted how Martial Arts can help with building up character, discipline, and confidence, as well as improving physical and mental health. She also emphasized how Karate can teach valuable skills such as respect, compassion, and empathy. She told a few stories about how karate has helped her in the past.
Sensei Gabi also expressed her passion for being a Karate instructor (Sensei) and why she thinks it is the best job in the world. She said that she loves seeing her students grow and progress in their Martial Arts journey, as well as helping them overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. She also said that she enjoys being part of a supportive and caring community at HAITO Karate and Self-Defence Club.
