What a day for our HAITO juniors! Rebeka, Simas, Adam and Martynas travelled to Wokingham for a demanding BKK under-21s squad training session, joining some of the country’s top young fighters for three hours of hard work.
The session was led by Shihan Wai Cheung, Head Coach for Team GB and England U18/Juniors. It was a fantastic opportunity for our four karatekas to train under his guidance and gain experience alongside young fighters from outside their own dojo.
Three Hours of Hard Training
Partner work, pad drills and sparring kept the juniors busy throughout the session. Three hours of training is a serious challenge, and Rebeka, Simas, Adam and Martynas put in the effort to see it through.
Training with different partners gives students the chance to experience unfamiliar fighting styles, distances and timing. It encourages them to adapt, try what they have been practising and learn from the people in front of them. Sessions like this are a valuable part of growing as a Kyokushin fighter.
Proud of Our Four Juniors
As an instructor, seeing our students step into a challenging training environment and give it their best makes me incredibly proud. There is so much to learn beyond our own dojo, and being willing to take on those opportunities matters.
Well done, Rebeka, Simas, Adam and Martynas. You worked hard alongside some very strong young fighters and gave us plenty to be proud of!
